About Mrs. Powell-DeJong
Lisa started her southern Colorado law practice in 2021.
Located in a rural area, she represents a wide-range of clients covering multiple areas of law.
After graduating from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis with her law degree, Lisa worked in the legal department at Farmers Insurance for four years, where she gained extensive knowledge & experience in personal injury claims investigations. After leaving Farmers, Lisa served as Deputy Auditor of Elections for Johnson County, Iowa where she prepared and carried out all primary, general, school and special elections for the county. Lisa then spent a short time practicing law as an Assistant County Attorney in Iowa City, IA where she resided.
Lisa relocated to Colorado where she took a position as Legal Editor with the Shepard's product at LexisNexis, a leading global provider of legal, regulatory and business information. During her decade-plus of work at LexisNexis, she reviewed and analyzed hundreds of legal opinions each month.
Lisa's passion for helping others led her to open her practice so she can assist her clients in navigating through various legal circumstances.
Lisa was born in Utah but also lived in Colorado and Indiana while growing up. After graduating high school in Indiana, she attended Purdue University obtaining her undergraduate degree in Sociology. This degree solidified her zeal to help others. While in law school, Lisa completed an internship assisting low-income individuals and families in Washington, D.C. While living in Colorado, Lisa spent four years volunteering as a Victim's Advocate for the local sheriff's department.
